Yes! We have been a licensed business since 1987. We are bonded for up to $25,000.00 and carry general insurance for up to $2,000,000.00. Each of our cleaners also carries his or her own bond. If you have questions about bonds or insurance, you may ask our office staff for the most current copy of our Certificate of Liability Insurance via email.

What kind of background checks and training do you do?

Our mandatory Background Check is a thorough process and we are a corporate member of Maid Training Academy, the world leader in home cleaning education with students across North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. We partner with only the best applicants whose work history demonstrates client loyalty and longevity.

Do I have to be home?

Due to COVID-19, we ask that you refrain from staying home during your cleaning appointment (or stay in an area of your home or office that will not be cleaned). This arrangement also helps our cleaners work quickly and efficiently. It is customary to keep a spare key in a secured lockbox. If you prefer to be home, simply let us know and we will be happy to work around you.

How is my key kept secure?

Upon receiving your key, we create a file with your details in our key catalog. We require it to be documented with the date, you cleaner’s signature, and initialed by staff.

Can I have the same cleaner on a regular basis?

For regular cleanings, yes! You will be able to build a rapport with your cleaner as they become familiar with your space, needs, and preferences. If your cleaner needs the day off, we’ll either send a fill-in or reschedule with you, and we’ll communicate your options. Most clients love their cleaner, however, if you are not absolutely thrilled, we will be happy to reassign you to a cleaner who better suits your needs.

Do I need to sign a contract?

No contract is required and you may cancel at any time. See our cancellation policy below for last-minute cancellations.

How do you deal with pets?

Our cleaners are pet friendly and would love to meet your furry family members. Our products are non-toxic and safe for all types of families and their pets. Please let us know of special circumstances such as an escape-artist or unfriendly pet.

Is your service guaranteed?

We stand by our Quality Guarantee. If the cleaning isn’t done to your expectation, please call us within two business days. We’ll come back at no charge to you.

What about cancellation?

Please call our office with give two business days’ notice, excluding evenings and weekends. If less notice is given, the late fee is $25 if you reschedule to another day. If the appointment is skipped altogether, the cancellation fee is $75. This helps reimburse your cleaner for lost work.

What is the minimum time for cleaning?

We require a minimum of three hours.

How can our clients help us?

Your feedback is valued! Rate us us on Google, Yelp, and/or the Better Business Bureau. You can also always call or text us at (206) 622 7783 or email us support@maidinthenw.com.

Should I tip my cleaner?

Tipping is never expected but always appreciated. Typical gratuity ranges anywhere from $5-$30 per cleaner, and can be added via cash, check or card. If you decide after your cleaning that would like to tip, you may email us at support@maidinthenw.com or call us at (206) 622 7783 and we can add it to your charge.

How do I prepare for my cleaning?

It is customary to pick things up off the floor and de-clutter counters and surfaces, within reason. We will focus on the dirt and grime. Dishes are considered a daily chore, so please clear your sink and counters of any dirty dishes to the best of your ability. Your cleaner will be happy to stack the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. If you want us to pick up, wash dishes, or fold laundry, we can work this in your estimate.
